Remember the socks I knitted for our teacher? After seeing them her sister wanted precisely same kind of socks. Same pattern, same yarn, same color.

Thanks for the comments concerning our son's new orange cap! I LOVE orange too but am unfortunately going to tell about some grey stuff now. My sister asked for a cap and mittens in that color and I chose last year's new yarn Novita Tempo.

She wanted simple accessories and that's what she got. Those mittens seem very odd but they fitted perfectly. But at next time I'm going to learn how to knit a better thumb.

I liked the yarn and have bought some yellow skeins of it for my cap and scarf. Grey is just not my color and it was quite boring knitting these. Unfortunately my sister has asked to me knit two (!) grey scarves for her..!

Waiting for spring.

We've had a very snowy winter. I haven't seen this much snow since childhood. I'm glad that our son gets to go skiing and make snowmen every day. I'm definitely not going to complain about the cold - we are really enjoying the snow - but I've secretly started to wait for the upcoming spring.

Our son got a new jacket for the spring time. I couldn't help myself and knitted a matching cap to wear with it.

I have some brown Panda for my new cap, too. It's an extremely soft yarn with my favorite colors. Wonder how much of it should I have for a cardigan?

Lima mittens.

I don't do mittens. I hate knitting thumbs because they always turn out holey. Felted mittens are the only ones I can do.

These ones were pleasant to knit. I prefer Lima rather than Novita Huopanen which of I have knitted orange mittens for me about two years ago (they are not blogged). My mittens are very warm and I have worn them a lot but Lima was nicer to handle.


I will absolutely knit more Lima mittens in the future. These mittens are going to a relative.

Socks. Again.

These are suddenly too small so I knitted new socks for my son. Same basic pattern and same yarn, just a different shade.

The yarn is great but I probably should have used smaller needles. However the most important thing is that my son absolutely loved these.

You know the type who always wears black, grey, brown and dark blue? My husband's one of them. In my opinion he desperately needed some new colors.

At first he was almost forced to wear these but now he actually seems to like them, too ;) That's great because I already bought some green Drops Eskimo for his next cap. If I'm lucky, he'll probably wear red next year?

I wonder if I can find this yarn in future because it's no longer in Gjestal's pages?

Sweet.

I've been waving my needles studiously during these past two weeks but instead of finishing anything I have just started new projects again and again.

My friend's daughter (almost 8 months) got a new cap. I knitted this three times - two times with Novita Luxus Cloud in white. The first one was way too tiny and the second one turned out like it could fit me. Finally I put the lovely yarn aside and chose to give Florica a chance.

Luckily I have lots of Florica storaged in our work room. This is way more lighter than Luxus Cloud. I just bought our son a new spring coat which has red and orange squares - a cap made from orange Florica will absolutely go with it :)


I have bought almost 3 kilograms of yarn from sales but don't probably have time to knit that much anymore. At least not before April. We really have to work with our thesis. Besides we have an extremely ferocious three-year-old who is in such a negative age right now. He really won't let me knit at all; hides my needles and tears unfinished projects.

Merino alpaca beanie.

Halusin simppelin pipon turkoosin pipon ulkoilutakkini seuraksi. Kiva tuli, mutta enemminkin kolmivuotiaan kokoinen.

I wanted a simple beanie to wear with my outdoor jacket. This turned out nice but more like 3-year-old size.

Siloa ostin kuun alussa Kädentaidot-messuilta. Onneksi sitä on jäljellä vielä toistakin pipoa varten. Ostin myös paljon kehuttua Pandaa. Molemmat langat ovat ihanan pehmoisia ja tulen takuuvarmasti neulomaan niistä jatkossakin. Pipon malli oli myös kiva. Tykkäsin etenkin kavennuksista, ne eivät vain valitettavasti näy kuvassa.

I bought two skeins of Silo from Arts&Crafts Fair earlier this month. Luckily I still have the other skein left. I also bought some of the widely praised Panda. Both yarns are extremely soft and I will absolutely knit more of them in future. I liked the pattern, too. Especially those decreasings, too bad that they can't be seen in the picture.

I have knitted this twice before, for me. They both turned out bit too small but hopefully this fits. At least the yarn was nice and soft and pattern was simple. So thanks to Laura for the pattern, this cap goes to your namesake.

The pattern was already familiar but yarn was new to me. All I can say is that I will buy more of this in future. Luckily there are many interesting shades.

Ohjeessa oli vain yksi koko, 1-2v. Neuloin täsmällisesti ohjeen mukaan, mutta kaksinkertaisella langalla ja pienemmillä puikoilla. Toivottavasti tästä tuli pienelle prinsessalle sopiva, livenä myssy ainakin näyttää kivalta ja lämpimältä.

There was only one size in the pattern, 1-2 years. I followed the pattern precisely except that I used double yarn and smaller needles. Hopefully this will fit for the little princess, at least it looks very nice and warm.
